Thanks to Fred and Nancy for the privilege of renting their Villa for
the month of February. It was a new
and unique experience for us, and taught us a lot! It was a
BLAST!!
Bob and Jan were there to help the novices get their feet wet, and show
them the way around. It was
great fun to spend time with them in Green Valley... away from their
normal digs in Sanford, MI
A very recognizable peak between Phoenix and Tucson... Mount
Picatchu. You can see the thing from
twenty or more miles from each direction... no mistaking that profile!
A visit with Andy and Eleanor on the way home was arranged and we were
happy to stop by their
place in Sun City West. They have a grapefruit tree in their back
yard which has only one fruit.
But what a fruit!!! Eleanor plans to cut it up and package it for
several days breakfasts...
unless it turns out to be hollow inside...
Heading away trom Sun City West on Wednesday morning. Jackson
bound, and scheduled to
arrive on (or about) Saturday afternoon, the 5th of March.
Up near Flagstaff, the air was much cooler, and the San Francisco
mountains were snow covered.
Further along, we stopped at Petrified Forest National Park for a few
hours taking many pictures.
I discovered that I qualified for a Lifetime Golden Eagle Pass to the
National Park System.
You just need to be over 62, and an American Citizen and 10
Bucks!!! What a deal!!!
A close-up of a petrified log showing the growth rings still
evident.
These things are (over) Fifty Million years old!!
